History of the Michigan ~ Friends of Jung
The Michigan ~ Friends of Jung has undergone many changes throughout the years. Originally named the Center for Jung Studies of Detroit, we were incorporated as a Michigan non-profit corporation on the 24th of March, 1981 under section 501 © (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The transition from the Center for Jung Studies to the Jung Society of Michigan provided a more geographically centered change. We will now be known as Michigan ~ Friends of Jung. We hope the new name will encourage all, both professional and the general public to enjoy our yearly event offerings. Our major purposes in this endeavor then as now were established as follows:
- To disseminate information and knowledge pertaining to the study of Analytical Psychology as originated by Carl Jung.
- To further the study of Jungian Psychology and its application to the process of individuation.
- To present public lectures, seminars, discussion groups, films and workshops for the purpose of expanding an awareness of Jungian Psychology.
